Time flies when you’re having fun, and I must say that writing the previous 199 A View Abroad blogs for MyInternationalAdventure has been one of the most enjoyable experiences of my long life on this planet.
I’ve done a lot of things, mostly in the fields of marketing and communications, all, for the most part, very enjoyable and satisfying. But I’ve found writing the most enjoyable of all.
The tyranny of the blank page has never set off alarm bells in my head because you always come first. I guess it’s years of marketing experience, thinking about what consumers want and need.
Before Felice and I launched MyInternationalAdventure in January, 2013 we spent a lot of time doing market research to find out what you need and want to know about moving, living and working abroad. We even hired a market research firm to conduct an in-depth study on what type of content you’re looking for.
Armed with that knowledge and continual feedback from you, we’ve been able to not only improve the quality and quantity of our content, but also focus it more on what you care about.
And, it turns out, you care about a very wide range of topics. That’s why every week I write three A View Abroad blogs, to bring you, hopefully, new and varied topics of interest.
This is #200 but I feel as though we’re just getting warmed up. There are just so many interesting stories to tell, facts to share and people to profile.
So looking ahead, you’ll find that we’ll place even more emphasis on the lives of expats living and working abroad. Why? Because we know there is no better way for you to learn about living abroad than hearing it from “the horse’s mouth.”
And by spring, we’ll have available my new book profiling the new American expat generation.
Did I say that I like to write?
