Felice and I welcome you to MyInternationalAdventure, the adventurer’s guide to moving, living and working abroad. MYIA brings you a broad range of timely, truthful and trustworthy information that can help you simplify the time-consuming and complex planning process required for you to move, live and work abroad.
As advancements in technology, transportation and communications continue to enable the expansion of globalization, more of us are packing our bags and heading to other countries to start new lives and businesses. We are international adventurers looking for a lifestyle change, an opportunity to experience a new culture or start a new business. There are nearly 7 million Americans living and working abroad today and millions more seriously considering an international adventure each year.
MyInternationalAdventure was created by long-time expats Felice Arden Nelson and Robert Nelson to make it easier for you to fulfill your dream of living in another country. Felice lived in London as a film producer for seven years after a career as a sales executive in the magazine industry. She also was a sales executive in the research industry. Bob lived in Mexico as a brand consultant for seven years, where he wrote his book “Boomers in Paradise: Living in Puerto Vallarta.” He also lived in Germany, Turkey and Greece and spent many years working in broadcasting, advertising and marketing. We understand the difficulty of finding good information sources that are credible and, most importantly, can be trusted to provide both current and relevant information. MYIA was founded with a mission to help make your transition easier by providing you with a constant stream of accurate, up-to-date information, articles and blogs that you can trust.
Our focus is on writing and curating specific content you will need to plan your move abroad and to live and work in your new country and city of choice. Editorial features all aspects of moving, living and working abroad, from selecting a moving company to purchasing a house to starting a business. We also bring you country guide information and stories on the most popular countries with American expats. You also should check in often for Bob’s A View Abroad blog, which features his and guest bloggers’ views on moving, living and working abroad.

MYIA also feature stories from international adventurers like you. If you live abroad, we would like to hear from you. You can submit your story, photographs and/or videos for us to review and consider for publication. There is nothing more interesting or instructive than discovering how fellow adventurers handled their move abroad and how they are faring in their new country. And, we also welcome guest blogs for our A View Abroad blog.
You can also showcase your video and/or photo expertise. Those of you who have moved and are living in your new city have the opportunity to share your life and your new home with adventurers everywhere. MYIA also receives major contributions each semester from mass communications students at San Jose State University. From research to writing to photo editing, our talented team of interns helps make MyInternationalAdventure the adventurer’s guide to moving, living and working abroad.
