I don’t know about you, but I get very frustrated with websites that either don’t show the date an article was written or have old articles on their sites. By old, I mean old…often five years or more.
We don’t do that at MYIA. Because we want you to trust that we provide the very latest information on highly relevant topics of interest to you, we update our articles with new material on a regular basis and show you the date of the last update.
Case in point: Our checklist for moving abroad in our Move section. When we launched MYIA in January of 2013 we thought it was very important to provide you with a checklist that would help you organize your thoughts and actions during the planning process. You agreed. The checklist is often in the top 10 most read articles on our site.
Recognizing the importance of this content for your planning, we’ve updated the information and combined the six checklists into one article to make it easier for you to access and read.
Our article “Checklist for Planning Your Move Abroad” now provides you with seven checklists and links to other articles on the site that provide more detailed information about the subject covered under the specific checklist.
We added a seventh checklist called “The Other Little Things We Sometimes Forget,” that lists the organizations you need to contact about your address change. It also includes reminders about scheduling appointments with doctors, dentists and optometrists; scheduling final utility services readings; cancelling rental agreements; and a few other things that are small but important.
Because we continually reassess and update our articles, consider the checklist a living document. Whenever we can bring you new, helpful information that will improve your moving abroad planning, we’ll update the article and let you know about it…and update the date so you know it isn’t old information.
